and how long would it last for with any battery?
you don't give enough info for the first part of your question ,where did you start ?23T x 1 ? we built a cool stampede with a 17X2 and it goes about 22-23 mph with stock gearing and super swampers ,the second part is too open ended because ANY BATTERY is WAY TOO GENERAL because I have some 1200 that last about 5 min and I have some matched 3800's that will go 17 min -so rephrase your question and post it in HOBBIES not real cars and you will get the info you seek-good luck

well if you do put that on your car then the batter will last for about 9-10 months. What you need is a air compressor and ou need to get a batter for a truck or get a heavy duty battery that has a life time garren tee

Questions about the Traxxas Stampede XL-5 RTR?

Only people with good knowledge answer! not just retards who are trying to be funny! SORRy there a few links
1. How long would this battery last for the Traxxas Stampede XL-5 RTR -

2. Would it be better to buy the Traxxas Stampede VXL RTR? (Does the price difference between this and the Stampede XL-5 compare with the difference of ability? (speed, turning, etc.?))

that battery will last about ten minutes in a stock xl-5.
the only difference between the xl-5 and the vxl is the motor system. the vxl is a brushless powered system that has crazy power. but if you're looking at the vxl, don't even bother with a 1500 mah battery. you'll want at least 3000 mah NiMH packs. you didn't mention your experience with r/c cars. if you've got experience, the vxl is a must. if you're just getting into it, then go with the xl-5. that is plenty of performance for any beginner. and you can always upgrade to a system that eats the vxl for breakfast: the mamba max. either way, you're not making a bad decision either way!
feel free to message with more questions!

Would a 5000 mAH battery work on my Traxxas Stampede XL-5 RTR?
Jan 04, 2009 by Yea, I'm a band geek. | Posted in Hobbies & Crafts
have a Traxxas Stampede XL-5 RTR and it works perfectly. The only problem is that it only has a small Venom 1600 mAH battery that lasts for about 7 minutes. I love the truck and want to use it for a lot longer amounts of time. I found a cheap $47 Venom 5000 mAH battery on eBay. Would this battery be too powerful for my truck? Or would my truck still work fine, but for a lot longer. Would it better to get a 3000 mAH (something a little smaller)? Please Help! Thanks!
the voltage of both batteries is 7.2V. They are also both 6-cell
The mAH has nothing to do with the voltage it only represents how long the battery lasts. You need to make sure that if your 1600 mAH battery is 11.1 volts that the 5000mAH battery is too. Also jumping from a 1600 mAH to a 5000mAH is going to effect the weight of the car.

I have a traxxas stampede xl-5 w/ a 2400mah 6cell Battery how do i make the truck faster and run longer?
May 28, 2009 by Jon | Posted in Toys
i was told to go brushless by local hobby store, the system would be about $180 but i would need to get new batteries and charger, and the final price would be about $500 he said the battery would last about 45mins and give it alot more speed the price seemed very steep considering the rc itslef was under $200
That is correct. You want brushless. Right now if you stay with the XL5, you would want a new battery, a better motor, and to change the gearing. For the pinion the more teeth the faster and less the slower and vise versa with the spur.
