My Traxxas Rustler is broken the motor runs but the rustler wheels dont and it makes a grinding noise and mettalic sound what is wrong with it?
If the clutch and transmission main gear spin but your dongbones/driveshafts don't spin then you've stripped a gear in the transmission. The most common is the idler gear. Trake the transmission apart and inspect every one of the gears for stripped teeth. If any are worn or stripped replace them.
If the sound is coming from the engine then you'll want to take the clutch apart and inspect the gears.
If on the other hand your using an electric (have not posted which one you drive) Then check to see if the pinion on the motor has slipped from the main gear, or in fact stripped the main gear. The most likely gear stipped in the electric transmission also happens to be the idler gear.
Wherever the noise is coming from it sounds like a slipped or stripped gear so your going to have to at least partially take the transmission apart .

It sounds like your gears in the motor are stripped / shifted apart from each other. I would check that first, you may need to reshift or replace your gears.

How long of runtimes for a Traxxas Rustler would I get with a 3500mah battery. Thanks for your help.
15 to 25 min depending on how hard you run it and the track your running on if your going up hill alot it has to work harder

No it is not waterproof. No RC is waterproof unless it states that it is. It would be very hard, time consuming and expensive to make it waterproof.
It's 1/10 scale and these usually will not top over 35MPH even with high end motors and graphite parts. Out of the box you are looking at 15-20 MPH depending on motor and battery and speed control.
Your battery selection has a high impact on determining speed.

How much silicone dampener oil should i put in my traxxas rustler's shocks?

I took a huge jump and the top of the right rear shock came off and spilt the oil all over. It is not the vxl.
Did it break, or did it come unscrewed? Either way, when you go to refill it, put the shock shaft all the way down so that the piston is at the bottom of the shock. Fill the body to just a hair under the lip, pump it a few times to get all the air bubbles out, and then put the bladder on top, then attach the shock cap. You should be good to go. Don't overtighten the cap. Doing so can cause it to pop off easily again.
