YOUR FAVORTE MODLES
I did have a Traxxas Tmaxx. Awesome truck, tough, durable, fun, and competitive. And that was before the 2.5 came out. I ran the old .15 for a long time, then switched to an OS .15. From what I hear the new 3.3 are a handful. I made the switch to the Traxxas Emaxx for the ease of use. I could concentrate more on suspension setup for racing rather than engine tuning.

For you gas RC truck people- my Traxxas 2.5 & 3.3 engines wont start?
May 25, 2009 by Truth0fL1fe | Posted in Hobbies & Crafts
ive got 2 classic 2.5 tmaxxes- mine has a 3.3 and my dads has the 2.5 engine in it. i just rebuilt both our trucks(due to servo failer etc). My problem is that neither one will start. Before we stored them bout 9 months ago they both ran great. Ive checked everything I can think of- cleaned the carbs, reset all the needles, both have good compresion, ez start turns both engines, glow plugs have good ground and will light(using new plugs), fuel is reaching the carbs, air filters are clean, using fresh 20% traxxas fuel, the engines were reassembled clean and exactly the way they are sop posed to be. My dads had a decent amount of corrosion inside (I cleaned the corrosion off with fine steel wool and WD40) some how his didnt get cleaned very good after we ran them  . allso recently when i took his engine apart, i found that half of the bottom of his piston is broke off(i think it was running like that). The guy that had the truck before us destroyed the top of the 2.5 that is in my dad's truck- so he put a new head and piston/sleave in it (which havent been run much after break in) My engine has had only about 10 tanks of fuel run through it. Lastly, we hooked a 6 volt battery charger up to the black ez start handheld thing so we dont have to worry about batteries. Is there anything i'm doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
your doing everything right if they sat as long as you said you may need to clean the carb out use some denatured alcohol and soke them for a while take out the high end needle and hook up a piece of fuel line blow throw it as you move the carb you should here air throw them also you can use a few drops of lighter fluid for a zippo down the carb and see if it will fire up if it dose then it will run you have the pressure line from the muffler to the tank fuel to the carb and an open carb. it should go open the carb about 1/4 way high end needle 3- 3 1/2 to start with
Good luck they can be stubborn after sitting

if your new a nitro evader st is a great deal in your price range. Very fast and easy to drive, Good Monster trucks dont reallay come that cheap but if you still want one tower hobbies tower terror is a OK one. the engine and sterring servo are crap but who cares for $298.

it is a traxxas nitro stampede with the trx .15 motor on it i put a new flywheel on it a new starter assembly and got a new ez start box but it wont start i had it running for a couple of days but then it quit running
it has a full tank of gas it is the right kind of fuel i put a new glowplug in it also
try replacing the glow plug...also test the connection to the glow plug by trying to start it with the plug out and hooked up... and see if it glows red. i have one also and they are very picky about the type of plugs you use so try the ones without the little bar at the bottom of them...those work better in mine.
also check fuel lines for pinches and all wiring because it tends to loosen up after awhile....good luck
