Will the Losi 8ight and RC8 run against the Mugen MBX6, Z01B, and MP9?

Im about to buy a car for offroad racing. Most of the guys have the high dollar cars and I am curious if the kits like the RC8 and 8ight will honestly perform on the same level? Im referring to equal motor, electronics, and drivers. Car vs. Car
So no one knows?

Oh yeah, there's no need to spend silly money on parts and upgrades. There's no reason why RC8's and Losi 8's can't compete with the more expensive kits.
The only real upgrades worth buying are more powerful steering servo's.
Some engines are insanely fast, but you'd be spending more time in the pits refuelling. Whereas other engines are still fast, AND you'll get longer on a tank of fuel.

Losi 8ight clutch?

My clutch shoes were releasing too soon so I took it to the local hobby shop and they replaced the springs(clutch) and trimmed down the shoes with a saw. Now it will not accelerate or decelerate smoothly anymore. It also heats up really fast, which is unusual ie 230 in the first minute or two of operation. Could it be that since the shoes were trimmed they are still releasing too early because they have too small a mass? It also will not idle very well(it either dies or starts accelerating). Any recomendations on how to fix this? I want it to run nice and smoothly and not have to worry about the shoes getting stuck out and having to chase it. Thanks.

take it back it was not done wright sounds like there hanging up on you or the springs are not strong enough to hold and there rubbing that would be your heat
