Is the HPI Rush Evo a good first nitro RC car?

Hi I'm looking at getting a HPI Rush Evo as my first nitro rc car and I just wanted to know if it's a good first nitro rc car (easy to use, robust the usual). I'm planning to buy on ebay for under a hundred pounds is there some where better to buy I don't mind a second hand car. Thanks.

dont touch it with a barge pole. mine never ran properly, the flywheel constantly came loose the carb needed costant ajustment. for the money your talking about buy a thunder tiger, any model will do as thunder tiger dont make a bad one

The first rule of RC cars and eBay is don't buy them off there unless your 100% sure of what your getting, I work at a hobby shop and we get tons of people with eBay clones that have no parts avalibility because they are some chinese company. If you want a good starting car i would suggest something from traxxas like the nitro 4-tec 3.3 its killer fast and its super easy to start. if you want a truck get a t-maxx or a revo or a savage.

Anyone know anything about the hpi/rc driver contest?

When will we know who wins?

not sure but i should be soon

Where can I find a HPI Nitro RC car in Northern Ireland? ?

HI there, am looking for the above but I cant seem to find numbers for any shops that supply the HPI RC cars, any help would be really appreciated as I will be going from southern Ireland and just need to check where I can purchase before I drive all the way up, thanks, amrs828

I don't really know, but if you go to www.hpiracing.com , this site seems to be worldwide so check it out., go to "find dealers". Good luck.

Whats wrong with a servo for an hpi rc car, if its "buzzing" when at rest, but functions normally otherwise?

I have an HPI RS4 RTR 3... it has SX-1 servos

The front servo, used for steering the car, makes this buzzing noise, and wont rest. The servo still steers the wheels pretty well, but when at neutral, you can hear it making this noise. Sometimes you can get it to rest, but it starts back up, buzzing again. I am almost positive it has nothing to do with the frequencies or anything, it makes no difference how far away from the car the transmitter is, and its never done this before.

I know its not the reciever, because the other servo running on the same reciever works just fine. I know its not mechanical, because I cracked it open and cleaned it all out. Mechanically speaking, the servo moves all throughout its range of motion no problem. I think its something in the electronics of the servo, but Im not sure.

What I really want to know is, is the servo toast? and if its not, can I repair it cheaply? or is it better to get a new one?

I just dont want to crash because of a bad servo. THX

A servo works on feedback - if it is too far left of where it is supposed to be, it knows it and goes back right to the correct spot, and vice versa. There is a "dead spot" in the servo control (coming from the reciever) that keeps the servo from chasing that perfect zero point all day (because the feedback from the servo itself isn't perfect). The feedback from the servo comes from a potentiometer hooked to the shaft of the servo. It looks like a little horseshoe shaped thingy, and there is a tiny wire wiper that contacts it and moves when the shaft moves. If this gets dirty, it will cause the feedback to be bad, and the servo will hunt for that zero dead spot all day - goes right - oops, feedback says too far, goes left - oops feedback says to far, goes right, etc etc. This causes that buzzing. You say you cleaned it well, which is usually what it takes to make it work again. Other parts of servo could also be going bad, but the feedback pot is usually the culprit.
Your servo probably won't just flat out die and cause you to crash with this problem, but it will wear out the servo faster than normal. This also eats batteries much more quickly than a properly working servo. If you have the extra $20 laying, around, I would get a new servo. If you can afford more, get a stronger quality made one, especially for steering which takes a lot of stress. Good luck!

Best HPI RC Car for begginer?

I wanted to get a new RC car from HPI DRIFT CAR. Which one of these are the easiest to use or are any of these harder to use than the other to drift or use in general. Also mainly, does any of these break easily or have breakage issues?
My choices are the
-HPI e10 Drift RX-7
-HPI e10 Ford GT
-HPI Sprint 2 Drift

Also is there a significant price difference between them?
Im trying for under $100 if possible

THANKS SO MUCH!!
The GT seems to be moreelusive and i can't find it online from any stores..

Is there such a thing as a good HPI car?

get a AETC4, Yokomo drift, or Team Losi Drift-R Sedan new or used with drift tires. your better off
Almost any rc sedan can be turned into a drift car

HPI Savage 5T

Savage 5T Front Page PhotoThe Baja 5B/T is extremely popular for their dynamic drive performance. With the SAVAGE 5T, you can enjoy the same dynamic drive performance as the Baja 5B/T on Savage! The SAVAGE 5T is designed based on the Savage XL and comes with a super long TVP chassis to realize powerful 1/5th scale! The SAVAGE 5T features the “SAVAGE” reliability and excellent drivability due to the shaft drive 4WD system. In addition, the chassis, which is so light for a 1/5th model, features nimble handling and great top speed. The SAVAGE 5T is a completely assembled RTR model and will be ready in a short time!

HPI designers worked overtime to stretch, massage and form the Savage monster truck into the latest extension of the Savage line-up: the Savage 5T!

This is probably the BIGGEST nitro monster truck ever offered, and is the largest version of the famouns HPI Savage! The Savage 5T comes complete with highly detailed desert racing truck bodyshell, scale all-terrain tyres, real beadlock wheels, 4WD drivetrain and a heart-pounding 5.9cc nitro-powered engine! The Savage 5T uses all of the latest heavy-duty options available for the Savage line-up of trucks, plus the Savage 3-speed auto-shifting transmission, extra-long centre dogbones and dual shocks at each corner to make it a four-wheel drive, go-anywhere ground-chomping monster desert racer!

Huge Scale Looks and Massively Fun to Drive!

The Savage 5T means a huge size – nearly 1 metre long – and the gigantic bodyshell, beadlock wheels and authentic all-terrain tyres give it a look and feel that can’t be matched by any other nitro-powered car or truck, anywhere!

All this power and durability gets you nowhere unless the truck is easy to drive and can get you through the rough stuff, so HPI designers made sure that the Savage 5T can take everything you can through it at and come through like a champ!
