duratrax Maximum st pro?

hi. i have a duratrax maximum st pro and for some reason it keeps stripping the spur gears. and its not like a weekly thing. it stripps them the first run. i cant really figure out why...? has anyone elus had this problem with their gas rc car?

Hello ' ... Well Yes i do have this Problem, i have a maximum bx i turned into a MT and and after tighten down the slipper nut on the spur gear ' i got 1 or 2 passes down the street and that was it ' the spur gear was done' (stripped-Out) if you adjust this nut just right the spur gear will slip when needed and it will prolong the life to the gear , also when installing a new gear it is a good tip to put a piece of paper between the spur gear and clutch bell gear , and then tighten down the engine , to give the gears the recommended gap they need to mesh against each other without grinding , one other solution I'm after now is = I'm now also looking for part #DTXC9402 it is a (metal) spur gear that i think will eliminate my problem and will let me have a little fun with this thing .... well gotta go search ... came across your question while searching , hope this helps ...

what other motors will fit on the maximum st pro truck

Any small nitro engine from a .12ci to a .18ci size will fit straight in, just make sure the engine has the same method of starting and the exhaust is at the correct side.
